The other day, employees of the supervision service in the field of protecting consumer rights and human well-being in the Russian Federation checked the berries and fruits that fall on domestic shelves from both Russian and foreign gardens.
As a result of a thorough check, which was carried out in laboratory conditions, the experts of Rospotrebnadzor revealed a number of significant problems. One of them is a deficiency of Group C vitamins, as well as a low proportion of phosphorus, iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium and beta-carotene.
Basically, a reduced content of these substances and trace elements was found in fruit and berry products, which arrived on the Russian market from Uzbekistan and Armenia.
In particular, it is reported that in imported cherries, the presence of vitamin C is more than three times lower than normal. The same problem is fixed in the case of Uzbek and Armenian apricots.
It is encouraging that no pesticides were found in fruits and berries that were subjected to laboratory tests - as well as salts of heavy metals.
Such information was shared by representatives of the public relations department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being.
