Apple harvest season in 2019. According to Info-Shuvar, the first early apples from producers of the Chernivtsi region today appeared on the site of the largest wholesale market in Western Ukraine, Shuvar Orsp.

“The season this season began at the usual time, last year, thanks to accelerated ripening, the first apples appeared on the market 10 days earlier. At the same time, the prices of the first crop are almost the same as last year.

Producers expect to sell the apple more expensive this season, given the low yield in Ukrainian orchards and not very optimistic forecasts for apple harvests in neighboring Poland, ”says Tatyana Getman, head of the Analytics department of the Shuvar ORSPP.

The apple season in Ukraine has traditionally been opened by the Airlie Geneva variety. In the wholesale market, its first lots are offered at a price of 10-11 UAH / kg (0.34-0.37 euro / kg). A year ago, an early apple cost 9-10 UAH / kg (0.31-0.34 Euro / kg) at Shuvar, and by mid-July 2018, its price had dropped to 5-8 UAH / kg (0, 17-0.27 euro / kg).
