Festive holidays of sheep to the mountain pastures in Mizhhirya have already become traditional.
For sheep farmers, shepherds, cheese farmers and local residents this is a real event that has turned into festivities. Children especially like the holiday. This year, not only the residents of the village gathered to hold the lambs, but also guests from other cities of Ukraine, as well as foreigners.
A merry procession passed along the main street of the village and moved to the Synevyrsky Pass. A real Hutsul holiday awaited the guests in the mountains, which began with a traditional watra, designed to burn everything bad.
Most of the tourists could be seen at the sheepfold, where they tried to take pictures with animals and stroke them.
Among the admirers of these peaceful creatures was the honored artist of Ukraine Ivan Pylypets, who said that he was looking for a model to shoot a video.
But the lambs themselves were waiting for their owners, since the time had come for milking. Shepherd Peter Furd told that sheep should be milked three times a day. 70 sheep gave 21 liters of milk, and after 40 minutes the guests of the festival began to prepare feta cheese from the milk received during the competition for the fastest preparation of this cheese.
Visitors to sheep's wires could enjoy traditional Carpathian treats, as well as enjoy performances by musicians and dancers.
