Bees are susceptible to a number of diseases that lead to their mass death, and are most often affected by the tick of Varroa. Varroatosis (colloquially, varoosis) is a bee disease in which not only adult individuals are affected by a blood-sucking tick, but also a young brood, located in the cells of cells. Without taking measures, the death of the entire bee family is possible. The drug “Bisanar” will help in the fight against the parasite, the rules for the use of which will be discussed in the article.
The composition of the drug and the form of release
"Bisanar" is a transparent solution of yellowish color and with a peculiar smell. The components of this drug are oxalic acid, thymol, fir and coriander oil.
It is issued in this form:
- ampoules of 1 ml (10 doses);
- 2 ml ampoules (20 doses);
- in glass (plastic) bottles of 50 ml.
Pharmacological properties
The products have a contact acaricidal effect on mature mite varroa jacobsoni. It is not addictive, suitable for therapeutic care and preventive measures to protect against parasites. In contact with the arachnid organism, with any part of the body, the product causes paralysis, respiratory failure, sterilizes the females, interrupts the reproduction cycle. The tick begins to crumble after processing after 5 minutes. But they collect it, cleaning the bottom of the hive, not immediately, but after 18-20 hours.
Carrying out measures to disinfect hives in autumn, when there is no seeding in bee colonies, is the most effective way to control pests and contributes to the successful wintering of healthy bee colonies.
Did you know? In the United States in 1995, almost complete extinction of wild bees in nature occurred, the infection of which with a tick began in 1987.
Instructions for use and dosage
It is important to know when and in what doses Bisanar should be used, the method of its use. Inattentive, incorrect approach to the healing of insects, will lead to ineffective results, will not live up to your expectations.
Instructions for processing bees "Bisanarom"
When treating varroatosis of bees, medicinal material is used in the spring and autumn, in warm time. In spring, the hives are treated after the first flyby, and in the fall, after the final honey collection. Before use, 2 ml of Bisanar is diluted in 2 liters of warm water (+35 ... + 40 ° C), gently stirring until a uniformly colored solution is formed. The resulting product is drawn into a syringe and sprinkled with a thin stream of space between the frames at the rate of 10 ml per street.

The disinfection procedure must be carried out twice, with an interval of seven days in the morning, at an ambient temperature of at least + 10 ° C (lower temperature reduces the effectiveness).
Instructions for use "Bisanar" for sublimation
Sublimation is an event held to smoke bees (beehives) with smoke using the innovative Varomor smoke gun. The implementation of this plan takes into account the size of the bee family.
Based on this, the hive is fumigated with smoke with a veterinary preparation from the calculation:Important! For a fortnight, but not later, before the start of the main honey collection, the disinfection is completed. Such an action will help prevent the entry of a veterinary medicine into honey and will guarantee a pure natural product.
- for an average family (6–7 frames) - one club of smoke;
- for a strong one (12-14 frames) - two clouds of smoke.
For sublimation, a 5% Bisanar solution of 50 ml volume is often used, which is enough to approximately fumigate 25 bee families (due to the size of the family). Having removed the cap from the bottle, the vessel is attached to the sublimation unit. The procedure is done at the rate of one roll (one club of smoke) for the average family and two rolls (two clouds) for a strong family. After the procedure, a five-minute break is required.
The treatment of families infected with varroatosis is carried out in accordance with the operating instructions for this equipment (smoke guns). It must be correctly configured so that with a single press, 1 ml of suspension is consumed (standard dosage). It is recommended that before starting the mass treatment of bee colonies, this medicine should be tested in advance for the reliability and effectiveness of treatment using 2-3 hives as an example, establishing control over them with constant monitoring for 20-24 hours. An overdose can lead to the death of bees.
When using this substance, you must observe safety precautions, be careful and comply with all operating requirements. This will protect the impact of negative factors directly on your well-being.
Precautions for the use of the drug
"Bisanar" - a veterinary drug that is practically harmless and environmentally friendly for bees, is toxic to humans. If it comes into contact with skin, eyes, or the body, it can be harmful to your health, therefore it is imperative to comply with safety regulations:
- hands should be protected with rubber gloves;
- use a face mask or respirator to avoid inhalation of vapors;
- in the process of disinfection, you must not eat and drink
- in the presence of a large number of hives, you need to take breaks;
- after completion of the measures carried out, thoroughly clean the clothes.
Storage rules
In order for the substance not to lose its healing properties and maintain its effectiveness, the following measures must be observed:
- maintain the integrity of product packaging;
- store in a dry, sun-protected room;
- the storage location should not be accessible to children;

The product is suitable for use for 2 years from the date of its manufacture.
Important! Avoiding fakes, buy Bisanar in specialized stores or only from trusted sellers.
Bee Tick Danger
The tick of Varroa carries a great danger to bees. This tiny arachnid creature with a size of 1–2 mm causes serious problems for beekeepers, as it does a lot of harm to the bee family. The insect parasitizes not only on working bees, but also on drones, uterus and even on larvae. Non-viable, with developmental defects, individuals that soon die are removed from larvae infected with a tick.
During wintering, one specimen kills at least two bees. Pest infection of more than 20% of insects inevitably leads to the death of the bee family. This parasite is also a carrier of viral diseases (viral or acute paralysis of bees, strain of the virus of the deformed wing, etc.). If prevention and treatment are not carried out, not only the bee family can die from it, but other hives and even neighboring apiaries will also get sick.
Did you know? Since 1940, the Varroa tick began to spread around the world, infecting new territories, and in Russia it was already detected 10 years later. Since 2000, only one continent Australia has remained free from this pest.
Work to protect domestic insects from varroatosis is a necessary event in beekeeping. Having familiarized yourself with the guidelines for the use of the drug and using the knowledge gained, with the help of Bisanar you can successfully prevent the danger of spreading the tick throughout the apiary and in a single hive, protect the bees from various diseases and pests.
