Signor Tomato is one of the most popular modern polycarbonate greenhouses, whose design is practical and effective. Below are detailed technical specifications, as well as features of its operation.
Technical characteristics and equipment of the greenhouse
The Krovstroy TPK model appeared on the market in 2009 and immediately attracted attention with its design features:
- variable length with the help of additional inserts, a multiple of 2 (from 4 to 10 m);
- width - 3 m, height - 2.1 m;
- the frame is made of 40x40 mm PVC profile;
- coating material - cellular polycarbonate of different thicknesses;
- The basic model has 2 doors and 2 windows;
- service life - over 10 years.
Did you know? The largest number of greenhouses recorded in Holland. Their total area is 10.5 thousand ha.
It does not burn, is chemically stable and durable, has excellent light transmission and UV protection, as well as resistance to adverse weather conditions. The greenhouse does not need an additional foundation. It is mounted on the T-shaped legs of the plastic profile, which are included in the delivery, and is buried in the soil by 30 cm.The greenhouse comes in several versions, but each kit includes everything you need for assembly:
- straight parts of the frame and arc;
- straight parts for the ends;
- handles and vents;
- clamps with accessories;
- insert 2 m;
- instruction.
The Karkas kit is supplied without polycarbonate, and the Econom, Standard and Comfort kits include polycarbonate of different densities (3.5–6 mm). A packaged product consists of 5 blocks weighing up to 50 kg and can be transported to the assembly place by a conventional passenger car. The greenhouse SP-3 (with a size of 2x3 m), SP-4 and other models with a length of more than 2 m must be equipped with additional windows.
Did you know? The first greenhouses, according to archaeological excavations, appeared in China about 5 thousand years ago.
Benefits
- The greenhouse demonstrates the following advantages:
- resistance of materials to natural factors;
- does not require additional treatment against pests;
- simple and quick assembly;
- does not need a foundation;
- under certain conditions, you can not clean for the winter;
- Attractive appearance and durability.
Disadvantages
- With general positive reviews, some users note the following model flaws:
- the need for snow removal in the event of a layer of more than 30 cm;
- with snowy winters and inconsistent living on the site, it is better to clean the greenhouse for the winter.
How to choose the best greenhouse from the manufacturer
The manufacturer offers 4 configuration options and the ability to manufacture the frame of the desired size (multiple 2). Polycarbonate, which is part of the Comfort kit, has better characteristics due to the thicker layer of the honeycomb layer. In addition, you can buy auto-ventilation and autowatering systems, as well as a flexible heater with the possibility of a temperature regulator.
Proper operation
A properly assembled greenhouse does not require special operating conditions, however, it is recommended to follow the basic rules of care (especially for the winter period).
Important! Do not use metal objects to clean polycarbonate. They can damage the UV protection layer.
Winter care
The design of the greenhouse can withstand a snow load of up to 80 kg per 1 m², which roughly corresponds to 13–15 cm of compacted snow or 25–30 cm of loose snow right after the snowfall. On a sunny day, snow can slide on the arched slope of the roof on its own, but after heavy snowfall it is better to clean it with a blunt wood tool.The frame of the greenhouse can be equipped with additional supports along the entire length (in increments of 1 m) to strengthen its strength. Extra care should be taken when opening doors and windows, since the PVC profile becomes less durable when the temperature drops significantly.
Greenhouse care in summer
In the warmer months, care of the product consists in cleaning the attachment points and monitoring the integrity of the structure. In case of shifts, they must be eliminated manually. During the summer heat, usual ventilation inside may not be enough, so a transparent roof may need to be tinted. Polycarbonate is sprayed with a chalk solution, which is then washed off with water.
Assembly instruction
Thanks to the detailed instructions, the greenhouse assembly takes about 5 hours and can be done by two people.
For work you will need:
- self-tapping screws with rubberized gasket;
- roulette;
- sharp knife;
- screwdriver or screwdriver;
- marker.
Important! During installation, it is necessary to ensure that the polycarbonate is fixed with a protective layer to the outside.
Assembly takes place in the following order:
- After studying the instructions, the parts must be laid out according to the markings on them.
- First of all, they collect doors and windows.
- Then the end of the greenhouse is collected by marking with a marker according to the instructions.
- A door and a window leaf are mounted to the end.
- The assembled end with legs is set aside, then you can immediately cover it with polycarbonate or follow the instructions. A polycarbonate sheet fixed with self-tapping screws is cut with a knife along the contour of the arch.
- The second end is harvested in the same way.
- After the ends, the remaining arcs are collected.
- First, they dig in the first end in level, and then, in turn, install arcs and screeds.
- At the end, set the second end.
- The structure is covered with polycarbonate, leaving a peak of 5 cm above the ends. Each sheet covers the previous overlap.
- In polycarbonate at the ends, holes for doors and windows are cut, leaving the necessary clearance.
- Lastly, pens and wrappers are installed.
