Western corn beetle
For information, the western corn bug is a dangerous pest of crops. The homeland of the insect is North America, from where it came to Europe in the 90s of the 20th century. In Ukraine, the bug was identified in 2001 in Transcarpathia.
Until the pest left its homeland, American farmers fought it using crop rotation. But once in Europe, he adapted to local conditions and crop rotation was no longer a threat to him.
It is extremely difficult to deal with the pest, because it has a high resistance to chemicals. Scientists suggest that to combat insects you need an integrated and integrated approach to the plant protection system, which would include all the available capabilities and resources.
