New Year's holidays every day become only pleasant memories, and the only artifact of the New Year and Christmas in the apartment to this day remains only a festive tree. Most of us simply take the old tree to the trash. But you can do much more humane, ecologically friendly Russians are sure.
“Ideally, of course, to decorate qualitatively made artificial Christmas trees by the New Year that does not harm the environment, or to decorate living trees in your yard without violating their integrity and without cutting down. But if you still had a tree cut down in the forest decorating your house during the holiday season, do not rush to carry it to the garbage containers. ”
Millions of Russians throw pine trees that have lost their relevance, while they can be taken for processing.
“Compared to the Christmas tree thrown into the trash, the recycled conifer leaves a carbon footprint 80% less. And, thus, more space is freed up at garbage landfills, activists say. “Just find out which institution in your city is competent in the disposal of trees.”
Many Muscovites have adapted to “extend” the life of the New Year tree, making it a bird feeder.
“We just stick the tree in a large pot and hang it on the place where the toys were hanging yesterday, some goodies for the birds: dried berries, popcorn or chopped fruits,” says Oksana Pachenyuk, a resident of Moscow. “And if you live outside the city, you can process the tree into shavings or chop it into firewood to kindle a fireplace or stove.”
Owners of goats can also find useful applications for the New Year’s beauty: for the most part, horned ones like to chew branches with needles.
