In mid-July 2019, blackberries became the record holder for price reductions in the Ukrainian berries market.

According to the monitoring of analysts of the Info-Shuvar project in the largest wholesale market in Western Ukraine, the Shuvar ORSPO in Lviv today offer 30-35 UAH / kg, which is 1.0-1.16 EUR / kg. Over the past four working days, the cost of the berry has dropped at least one and a half times.

Moreover, blackberries have become almost the only berry this season, the prices of which have dropped significantly compared to last year. In mid-July 2018, blackberries on Shuvar were sold at 45-55 UAH / kg or 1.6-1.96 Euro / kg, and the berry was offered at the same price in mid-summer 2017.

Sellers ORSP "Shuvar" attribute the fall in prices for blackberries to the growth of production of this berry in Ukrainian households. Processing plants that freeze blackberries also confirm the fact that the supply has increased this year.

This season, enterprises plan to partially compensate for the decline in raspberry supply with a blackberry. For freezing, blackberries are being bought at farms at 25-27 UAH / kg, which is equivalent to 1.0-1.16 EUR / kg.

Processing enterprises are counting on a further reduction in prices.
