The other day, Arnold Butov, the head of the National Union of Beekeepers of the Russian Federation, shared statistics on the defeat of bee families in the country.
So, it became known that the mass death of bee stock affected beekeepers from thirty regions.
Based on the claims of Butov, in some areas the total pestilence provoked losses from five to thirty percent of bee families. The president of the union added that he did not receive data on the death of more than thirty percent in the region.
It will not be superfluous to note that at the moment, calculations are still being made of the damage received as part of the mass death of honey plants this year in the territory of the Russian Federation. And the final data will be released later.
It is important to add that, according to Arnold Butov, today there are about five million bee families in the country, of which the lion's share (over ninety seven percent) are based in the private sector.
Based on the information received at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, it can be said that by the end of July 2019, over thirty-nine and a half thousand bee colonies were subject to massive pestilence in the vast expanses of the country. And this is almost one and a half percent of the total number of domestic honey plants.
