The company Gorodnyansky Orchards LLC from the Novoduginsky district of the Smolensk region launched an investment project to create an intensive apple orchard on an industrial scale.
In addition, the company intends to organize the processing of apples and other fruits and berries. The governor of Smolensk region A. Ostrovsky has already reviewed the project during a working trip to Novoduginsky district.
Within the framework of the investment project, an intensive type of apple orchard will be laid, fruit storage facilities with a capacity of at least 2 thousand tons will be built, and a full-cycle production processing complex consisting of 4 production lines will be created.
To date, the garden has already been established on an area of 166 hectares. A drip irrigation system has been laid and installed. At the end of this year, the fruit storage will be commissioned.
This method, the most common in industrial "dwarf" and palmetto apple orchards, is very effective, as it soaks the soil with water directly above the roots of each tree.
The total amount to be invested in the project will amount to 350 million rubles. 15 new jobs will also be opened.
Governor of the Smolensk region A.V. Ostrovsky held a working meeting with the management of the company, which discussed the progress of the project, as well as its prospects.
The parties identified markets for future products, discussed measures of state support. Ostrovsky praised the activities and potential of LLC Gorodnyansky Gardens.
