Nikolai Prudivus from the Khmelnitsky region has been growing medicinal herbs for 40 years. Back in the 70s of the last century, Nikolai began working at the local state farm of medicinal plants. Herbal experience has helped the entrepreneur organize his business in growing medicinal herbs.
Nikolai Prudivus has been in this business since the early 2000s. He produces herbal teas, which he sells at festivals and fairs, and supplies them to pharmaceutical companies. Only on teas per season can you earn 300-400 thousand UAH. And at wholesale you can earn a million or more UAH, says the farmer.
On their lands, the entrepreneur grows about 20 tons of different medicinal plants, and also takes them from local residents. Some wild plants are harvested only in nature.
All herbs on the farm are grown without the use of "chemistry", dried in special dryers, as the raw materials must comply with state standards.
According to the farmer, Ukraine currently purchases 52% of medicinal herbs abroad, 48% of which is its own production.
This niche in the country is now practically not occupied, and there are not enough herbs on the market. According to Nikolai, plantain is purchased in Argentina, and chamomile and calendula in Egypt.
