Zhytomyr region is called the Ukrainian leader in the production of honey products and other products of beekeeping origin.
Representatives of the public relations department of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration shared this information with the public on their official Internet portal.
In addition, the department added that over the year the beekeepers of the Zhytomyr region together managed to release about eight thousand tons of honey to the market, which brought the region to the forefront.
In turn, the department of agro-industrial development and politics under the administration of the Zhytomyr region emphasized that the average productivity of local apiaries is forty-one kilograms of product from each bee colony.
For clarity, it should be noted that the average productivity indicator in all Ukrainian apiaries does not exceed twenty-four kilograms with one bee family. According to experts from the agro-industrial department, in the Zhytomyr region for every resident there are over six kilograms of honey.
Scientists have proved that the consumption rate of this product per year per person is one kilogram one hundred grams. In other words, residents of the Zhytomyr region are provided with honey six times more than required.
