The reasons were that this would ensure that the funds would go to small farms of up to 50 hectares, which would allow more farmers to participate in the event and grow their farms using organic farming. This was the official position that Bulgaria, after public consultations, sent to the European Commission.
Following the official opinion of the EU Directorate General for Agriculture, it is proposed that support for arable crop groups be 100% for the first 50 hectares of the farm, partly from 50 to 65 hectares - 50% of the support for hectares and partly more than 65 hectares - 10% of the amount of support with hectare.
Animal growing areas and bee colonies will not be supported during the transition period in 2020.
