According to preliminary forecasts, the Vinnytsia region will retain leadership in the current 2019.
Commenting on the features of the 2019 harvesting campaign for the media, the director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development, Ecology and Natural Resources of the Regional State Administration Nikolay Tkachuk said that the collection of grain and leguminous crops in the field began on June 26. Complicated harvesting by lodging crops, which occurred in 10% of the area.
Winter barley is now harvested throughout the region, and the southern regions are already starting to collect winter wheat and winter rape. As of July 4, about 4% of the area of the early group of grain and leguminous crops was threshed in all categories of farms. More than 65.4 thousand tons of grain has been harvested. The average yield is 47 kg / ha, which is 4.2 kg / ha more than on the same date last year.
Unfortunately, adverse weather makes it difficult to harvest in the agroformations of most regions of the region. “About 10% of the grain area of the early group died, which greatly complicates the harvest. Crops died on an area of more than 4527 ha. Private households also suffered from the weather. Despite this, in the Vinnitsa region this year we hope to get a good harvest and maintain a leading position in the state.
If we talk about the production of grain, it should be noted that this year the emphasis is on growing corn. Significantly increased corn crops for grain, which amount to 418 thousand ha. Vinnytsia region has not yet sowed such areas of this culture, ”said Nikolai Tkachuk.
2320 units of combine harvesters and 860 reapers for mowing bread into rolls were prepared for harvesting in the region. Today 190 combine harvesters are already operating, or 8% of the available. On average, the load on the combine harvester in the region, excluding those involved, is 185 ha.
In addition, in order to reduce harvesting time and prevent losses of the grown crop, the region’s farms will additionally attract 450 units of high-performance combine harvesters. Contracts for the additional attraction of 265 units of high-performance combine harvesters have been concluded.
Today, work is being completed on the preparation of drying equipment, grain flow equipment and other machines and mechanisms that will be involved in the harvest. At grain receiving enterprises, 125 grain dryers and grain drying complexes with a total capacity of 90 thousand tons per day were prepared.
1725 grain storage facilities with a capacity of 2140 thousand tons, 250 grain dryers and grain drying complexes with a total capacity of 45 thousand tons per day were prepared at the farms of the region, 765 units of truck scales were repaired.
