This year may go down in the history of Russian agriculture as a period of low yield of buckwheat in domestic fields.
According to experts, a meager result at the end of this season is expected due to the fact that in the southern expanses of Western Siberia in 2019, buckwheat was sown much later than usual. The sowing dates were affected by weather conditions.
Based on the information shared by Roman Vilfand, Honored Meteorologist of the Russian Federation and head of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, the inhibition of the process of sowing crops occurred in the Altai Territory.
And it’s too early to make any forecasts regarding the yield. However, in a month it will be possible to predict with high probability the scale of the crop. But even now, experts suggest that there is little hope for such a volume of domestic-made buckwheat, as last year.
According to Villefand, the Altai Territory, which is the leader in the production of buckwheat and holds half of all domestic crops of this crop, has always influenced the yield of Russian buckwheat.
Recall that the Russian Federation is considered the largest producer and supplier of buckwheat in the whole world.
