Leading experts of the statistics department of the world-famous analytical agency Strategie Grains recently announced forecasts regarding world wheat production in the EU countries in the 2019-2020 season.
Based on information released by representatives of the agency, we can say that there was a decrease in forecasts - at least two million tons. And today, the estimated yield in the specified season is about one hundred forty million six hundred thousand tons.
It will not be superfluous to note that, although the forecast indicator has decreased, these figures still exceed the yield of the last season by more than eleven percent.
The Strategie Grains clarifies: “The forecasts were corrected because in some parts of the European Union at the end of last month droughts were recorded that affected the yield of agricultural land.”
For example, we can safely talk about a significant decrease in crop volumes on German grain fields - by more than seven hundred thousand tons. As for Spain, here we are talking about a minus of six hundred thousand tons. The Polish indicator is minus four hundred thousand tons.
