The most experienced and proactive representatives of the Omsk State Agrarian University have long worked on the creation of a unique variety of wheat. As a result, they managed to surprise the world community with an unusual grain product.
It is about wheat of a violet shade which received the original name "owl". Such information was shared by the press service of the Siberian Agrarian University.
According to them, the “owl,” which belongs to the category of perennial varieties, is the fruit of a long and painstaking process that started back in the late twentieth century. As a result, the work of several generations could succeed only today, in the spring of 2019, when wheat passed all the necessary tests and was registered in accordance with all the formalities.
According to breeders of Omsk University, this wheat variety is excellent for making flour, designed specifically for baking healthy bread. Such a product will surely be appreciated by adherents of a healthy diet.
It is important to note that the “owl” shows high resistance to ultraviolet. Also, she can "shoulder" severe frosts and drought. Does not affect the quality of this wheat and cultivation on saline soils.Another distinguishing feature that distinguishes an “owl” from regular wheat is an elongated root system.
