As it became known, the only sugar factory in the Sumy region began dismantling the equipment. Now work is underway on the uprooting of plates and the removal of equipment.

Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Sumy Regional State Administration Alexander Maslak, said that the aforementioned sugar factory will not work this fall. Dismantling of plant equipment was not previously reported anywhere.

For information, the only sugar factory in the Sumy region, that in Nikolaevka, Belopolsky District, finished 2018 with more than a hundred million losses and has not paid its debts until now.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian farmers in 2019 reduced the sown area under the cultivation of sugar beets. It is estimated that in the current marketing year 2019-2020. 34-35 sugar factories will operate in Ukraine.

For comparison, in the marketing year 2018-2019. In the country there were 42 enterprises producing sweet products. However, this year Ukraine will have enough sugar to cover domestic needs.

According to experts, even with a low yield and sugar content of raw materials over the past 3 years, respectively, at 475 c / ha. And 16.2% of the sown area, it will be possible to collect 10-10.5 million tons of sugar beets.

This will make it possible to produce 1.3-1.35 million tons of sugar, which will fully satisfy the needs of the country's domestic market for the 2019-2020 MY season.
