Today, table grapes on the Ukrainian market represent imported goods. The Ukrainian grape producer, while remaining a net importer, realizes the entire harvested crop even before mid-January. For two months of this year, they have become 60% more expensive in bulk purchasing. 1.5 times more expensive table grapes of white varieties. Black grapes have become more expensive by 35%. And only the Moldova variety showed a minimal increase in value - only 5%.
Now the variety "Moldova" is the most affordable. For 1 kg of this grape, on average, they ask for 33 UAH or $ 1.21, which is three times less than for the other grape varieties. The leaders in price increases are white varieties. They can be bought in bulk at 98 UAH / kg, which is $ 3.60 / kg.
Market operators explain the low price of “Moldova” grapes to problems with its quality, which not in the best way affected the pace of sales and significantly reduced its cost. Moldova exports to Ukraine mainly grapes of the same name and is considered the largest supplier of the product after Turkey. From Turkey to Ukraine most often comes "kishmish". The country also imports grapes from countries such as Peru, Chile, Italy, South Africa and Egypt.
