The National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told Agro Napló that fresh local products such as peppers, tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, lettuce, green onions are already available in large quantities in markets and shops.

Domestic horticultural production is able to meet the needs of the population, as intensively produced vegetables are grown on approximately 2400 ha, field - 80 000 ha. In total, Hungary produces almost 2 million tons of vegetables a year.
In addition, about 80,000 hectares of fruit are involved under fruit trees, which brings the volume of 800 thousand tons of fruit produced annually.
Almost half of the domestic production of fruits and vegetables serves as a fresh market product, and the other half as raw materials for the processing industry.
